Supernatural revenge. La rappresentazione degli spiriti vendicativi nel kabuki

Abstract

This article analyzes some amongst the most interesting and fascinating characters of kabuki theatre: onryō, better known as vengeful spirits. The aim is to show how important was the role of such supernatural beings in the creation and the evolution of this particular example of performing art.
