The present paper examines some hypothesis on the possible role that Biagio Rossetti, ducal architect and engineer, had in the theatrical staging in Ferrara between XVth and XVIth century. Starting from archival documents, published in the last few years, the study will look for the evidences of the possible involvement of the architect, with the aim of reconstructing the dynamics of material culture that characterize theatrical experimentation during Ercole’s dukedom.
