Abstract

According to the idea of theater as an organization whose traditional operational constraints need to be reconciled with its peculiar socio-cultural mission, the study aims to analyse the practice of the participatory theater adopting a multidisciplinary perspective that combines the support offered by the management literature with that one of anthropology setting. To this aim, the article adopts the theoretical framework of the Corporate Social Responsibility and discusses the relevance of the participatory theater as a particular typology of stakeholder engagement for the community. In order to test its aims, the article relies on the analysis of a practical case study (i.e. the Atelier of the Emilia Romagna Teatro Fondazione), presenting its main findings in terms of impact on the community engaged.
