Abstract

The concept of common good could be declined in three major points:

1) the theft of the good itself from the profit mindset;
2) the creation of a link between the community and the good;
3) the creation of a new management form, neither public nor private, which knows the capacity of the good itself.

From the analysis of the schedule published by MiBAC, it is clear that there is a lack of founds addressed to the artistic research. The situation that occurs nowadays is imposing the necessity of identifying another kind of development model.
I took, as a research topic, Teatro Valle, which is one of the most important case in the Italian national context. The management of the entire structure undergoes through the principles of non-rivalry, non-exclusion and self-governance. The strongest points of this model are: the idea of an alternative management and the creation of synergies between several cultural movements.
The theatre itself has been seeing as a multi-functional location: there are lots of performances flanked by debates, conferences, talks, and other initiatives.
Another important aspect is the great visibility that the experience has been receiving through the years. However it is necessary to underline that the building, which is a private property, lives in a condition of lawlessness because it has been occupied. Moreover Teatro Valle has been accused of unfair competition by other cultural spaces.
Since the culture is the common thread that helps us to uphold our identity, the common goods help us to recognize ourselves and state our fundamental rights.
